This Privacy Policy explains how Cutnik (“Cutnik”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you visit cutnik.com or enquire about our wedding video editing services. We are the data fiduciary/controller responsible for your personal data.

Cutnik is a boutique wedding video post production studio led by Kevin Patel, based in India and working with videographers and studios worldwide.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect only what we need:

  • Information you give us when you submit the project brief or contact form, including your name, studio or business name, business email, country or time zone, the service you need, deadline, reference links, and anything you write in the message field.

  • Project information if you become a client, including the footage and files you share, project details, and communication history. We do not ask you to upload footage before a project is confirmed.

  • Payment information. We do not store your card or bank details. Payments are handled by third party processors (see Section 6). We receive only confirmation and basic transaction records.

  • Technical and usage data collected automatically via cookies and analytics, including IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring links. See our Cookie Policy.

We do not knowingly collect data from children. Our services are B2B and intended for businesses, not individuals under 18.

3. Why we use your data

We state a specific purpose for each use, as required under the DPDP Act:

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote, based on your request or consent.

  • To deliver, manage, and support editing projects you engage us for, to perform our contract with you.

  • To send project updates, invoices, and service related messages, to perform our contract.

  • To operate, secure, and improve our website, based on consent for non essential cookies and legitimate interest for essential operation.

  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, as required by law.

  • To send occasional marketing only if you opt in, based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Legal basis under GDPR and consent under DPDP

For clients and visitors in the EU or UK, we rely on your consent for enquiries, marketing, and non essential cookies, performance of a contract for delivering your project, and legitimate interests for running and securing our website.

Under India’s DPDP Act, we process personal data on the basis of your consent or a permitted legitimate use, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

5. How long we keep it

  • Enquiry data: Kept for up to 12 months if you do not become a client, then deleted.

  • Client project files and footage: Retained only for the period agreed for your project. See our Confidentiality Policy. After the agreed period, project files and footage are deleted. Always keep your own master backup.

  • Invoices and transaction records: Kept for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.

6. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us operate and only when needed:

  • Payment processors: PayPal, Wise, Payoneer, and/or your bank, to process payments.

  • File transfer and storage: Google Drive or another transfer tool agreed for your project.

  • Website and analytics: Our hosting provider and analytics tools. See our Cookie Policy.

  • Professional advisers and authorities: Where legally required.

Some of these providers may be located outside India, including in the United States or European Union. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled with appropriate safeguards.

7. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data, including access controls and secure transfer links.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. However, we take data protection seriously and act promptly if an issue is identified.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and request a copy.

  • Correct or update inaccurate personal data.

  • Request deletion of your personal data.

  • Withdraw consent, including consent for marketing, at any time.
